Alert Notify is an Application that notifies emergency agencies and contacts in case of a sudden emergency. The App relies on a very simple emergency trigger which manifests itself as a button in a widget or an app. Pressing the button sends out an SOS signal to emergency agencies and all hospitals in the vicinity thus providing users with a rapid response lifeline. Supporting the functionality of this simple user interface is a location tracking background service. This service periodically tracks a person's location and finds contact information of all emergency services nearby. By keeping handy the information about a person's nearest emergency information, this application provides users with the best possible chance to survive an unexpected emergency such as a heart attack. As a Software Developer, I was responsible for developing the entire back end service as well as the Java Swing Front End GUI from scratch. The service makes use of Google Maps APIs to keep track of locations as well as figure out which emergency services are closest to the location of the user. I'm currently in the process of converting the interface from a simple GUI interface into a public facing Android application that can perform all the operations in real time automatically.
