PreNumeracy Hack is an Educational Tool built for the Homework Help initiative at the Seattle Public Library. The Java Swing Application is meant to help children going into pre school get a quick hang of numbers and counting. Since the target audience for this application is young kids, the tool is in the form of a reward based visual game. The game utilizes visual cues like duck images/ cartoon images and asks the user to count the number of images following which they're given a score. There are several different levels in the game which use different visual clues and are of different difficulties which will help the user keep engrossed and learn quickly. As the primary software developer, I worked on implementing all the features of this project as well as the Java Swing GUI that it presently uses. I also conducted the User research needed prior to the planning of the project and completed the project while adhering to the user centered iterative design process.
